Over the past year a ton has happened in the South Loop. Since there are five Monday's left in the year, we thought we would count down the top 5 stories on Sloopin in 2013 according to Google Analytics.

At #5 is the news that Chicagoland grocery stalwart Dominick's is moving out of the area. While this was a broader story than just the South Loop, it was interesting because when the announcement came out it was quickly reported that competitor Jewel-Osco was buying the store at 1340 S. Canal.
This is location is less than a mile from the Jewel-Osco store at Roosevelt and Wabash.
While we're still not 100% sure what the strategy is here, we should find out more in 2014.
