It's the time of year when "best" lists seem to pop up (see story on best bars from last week). Well the Chicago Tribune food columnist, Kevin Pang, has given his best of and Acadia was a highlight for him this past year. Here is a link to the story (which includes a video and Acadia mention at 0:31).
So we're not sure if he is saying McCaskey will earn one star again in 2013 or if he is saying he wouldn't be surprised if he earns 2-stars in 2013. Regardless, it's clear he likes what they're doing at Acadia.
We also like that he mentions "this empty grass lot" and fence next door like that has anything to with the restaurant. As we know, the plan is for the city to convert this space into a park hopefully this year.

Does anyone eat at specific restaurants based on Michelin star ratings? I'm not criticizing, just curious as I don't. I don't care much for others food opinions regardless of their status. I like what I like.
I ate at Next which does not have any Michelin stars but may if their seating policy and menu were more along the norm. That said, I hated it. There's something about tweezer food (food plated with tweezers) that doesn't appeal to me. Is Acadia like this? I've wanted to go as it's in the 'hood but don't want to overspend on tweezer plated BS.
When is the stroke-fest for this over-priced, non-neighborhood joint going to end? We get it Sloopin, we have a restaurant in an otherwise barren part of our hood that foodies like to eat at. Move on.
" stroke fest for Acadia "
I can see now why some people want to disable the anon posts...
I get what you mean by "tweezer food" and yeah, dinner at this place might not be for you. But you should definitely walk in and check out the bar menu in the front, larger portions, not too bad on wallet either. Ok, I'm done stroking.
Emily its the same issue everytime, my advise is to just ignore the cowardly anons and just go about your business. When you respond it gives them (him/her) fuel. Ignoring is the best option.
I have been to Acadia a few times and agree it is expensive but the food is incredible. I wish it was more of a neighborhood restaurant but appreciate having a destination place with so much good press. Brendan take note. This is an actual post not the dribble and desperate attention you need. Start actually commenting on the topics.
remember Emily & co.---- just ignore, it works very well against the cowardly anons.
COWARDLY
Brendan: commenting every time you don't agree with an anon post is NOT "ignoring" it; in fact, it's the exact opposite!
Actually I agree with brandan & co. Most if not all the anon comments are just trash and the sooner we just ignor the stupidity the sooner they will go back to doing whatever it is that they do.
Probably coloring books
i rarely post here anymore, I just email sloopy privately if i hear anything news worthy. I got sick of being told I was a "neocon" or hitler or whatever else the anon posters throw that will stick.
Ignoring is the only option, sloopy has said time and time again that comments need to be open to everyone so we just have to put up with the trolling anon posts because of that.

Here's an idea...post in the Message Board under the same header as the article. It's Anon-free.
