Villains bar and grill posted on their Facebook that they will be returning soon, in the South Loop but did not say when/where.Upon further investigation on their Facebook page it's true! We also had some inside gossip and can confirm that this is true. As it stands now, they're reviewing the lease with the lawyers and hope to have a location announcement soon.
We were able to confirm it's going to be in the South Loop. However, be patient...it's going to be a complete build-out.
Now let's play everyone's favorite game...Guess Where the New Villain's Will Open?
(Hat tip: RGR!)
my guess is 75 E 16th street.
ReplyDeletepfft, this place was soooo bad. Pass
ReplyDeleteThis is great news! I would doubt the 16th St. location since Villains was known for live music and that appears to be a largely residential building. I would guess somewhere in Printers Row east of their old location.
ReplyDeletethanks for your awesome opinion mark
ReplyDeleteYAY so yet another loud college bar settles into our hood while we still struggle to obtain decent fresh fruit, coffee, farmers markets, and parks. But oh nice we get another bar,
ReplyDeleteSkid Row all over again
@Anonymous 10:48am
ReplyDeletePlease. The old Villain's was right down the street from us. While they brought in an "interesting" crowd, they were great neighbors and never gave us a moments concern. The bouncers, while rough looking were actually nice guys, and our dog loved them.
In related news, the owners of the old Villain's gutted the place within days of the closure, and now it just sits there months later, looking pretty much like the rest of the building - derelict. Scum.
Lol skid row. That's grand. Pretty sure I know where it's going. Should be pretty amazing when it's done but its gonna be big time money to convert the space. Space should prove a great investment come summer time. I'm excited. Roof deck maybe?
ReplyDeletei love all the stooooopid anon comments on here saying how they know all these inside details
ReplyDeleteWhere ever it goes in the Sloop, you better believe I'll be in there at least weekly for the best craft beer selection, wings, and hospitality in the city.
ReplyDeletedidnt we kind of rid ourselves of markchicago?
ReplyDeleteLoud college bar? Did you ever go into the old Villain's?
ReplyDeletethe storage facility on 16th and Dearborn...
ReplyDeleteunder the Roosevelt Collection...
above Trader Joes...
23rd & Michigan...
They are going to be on the Clark Street on the same block. Right between Urban Pantry and Foundry. Much bigger space around 3000 sqft with brand new build-out. Welcome!
ReplyDeletereally? 13 comments about some dumpy EMO bar opening back up? WGAF
ReplyDeleteI for one welcome them back to the southloop.... they had great food and i never saw any problems there
ReplyDeleteMan you people hate EVERYTHING. this is why you can't have nice things.
ReplyDeleteLove villains!!!! Best tater tots ever. And the beer selection is fantastic. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI heard 16th street but we shall see
ReplyDeleteOle Hardwood building would be the best location. I wonder if they looked into that spot.
ReplyDeleteKeep eating your "tots" and cheeseburgers.... soon you will all be in my gym asking for help because you cant even pull your own pants down to goto the bathroom
ReplyDeleteBe stronger, resist temptation fatties.
" oh they have great heavy beers and awesome cheesy tots with bacon oh num num num num "
Would love to see it come to 16th street, but Clark sounds more likely.
ReplyDeleteAwww, FitGuy's feeling left out because his friends are tired of being lectured all the time and he never gets invited out for beers...
ReplyDeleteDude, I walk to work (and everywhere, for that matter), go to the gym every day, and enjoy a good sweaty dance class once a week, and I'm thrilled Villains decided to stay in the neighborhood. I enjoy a good craft beer with my veggie burger or dressing-free salad.
Awww, FitGuy's feeling left out because his friends are tired of being lectured all the time and he never gets invited out for beers...

booze is empty calories, do you do everything in life half way or just your diet routine.
ReplyDeleteIf you were in shape more you wouldnt sweat while "dancing"
It's not a "diet routine," that's the way I eat.
ReplyDeleteright, you eat bad. Case closed
ReplyDeleteWow - that "fitguy" sounds like a total do*chebag.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe fit guy is a trainer as he mentioned in a previous post. I work in the industry and most trainers worth thier stuff will tell people not to take an all or nothing approach to their diet. Come on fitguy, tell us where you work...which gym!! Break out of your anon status!!
ReplyDeleteLisa I assume you "train" pilates or some kind of cute little yoga class.
ReplyDeleteLet the real training to men and stay home and prepare our meals and loiter our bed chambers. if i wanted to list my gym I would but I dont need the business from people like cherise that need to "dance" off their cheeseburgers and beer
Reality bites.
I tried to disclose information about my gym but sloopy did not let it go through
ReplyDeleteAwesome, so glad they're coming back. Understood it's not a place for everyone, and frankly, I'm glad about that. Beer selection is best around.
ReplyDeletePS - FitGuy is such an adamant troll, I almost have to give him props. Ah, nevermind.
FitGuy, I'll take empty calories over an empty soul. Please share 'your' gym so the rest of us know to stay far away from it and instead work with trainers who aren't belittling to others.
ReplyDeleteTHIS!
ReplyDeleteThe return of an excellent beer list and wonderful burn-your-lips-off spicy bbq hot wings which we thought were lost forever. Better staffing I hope though, the staff was awful. Welcome back, Villain's!
C'mom everyone, as John said, FitGuy is a total troll. It's funny to read. If I knew what non-existant gym he worked at, I would go buy some BigMacs and eat them outside the gym's windows...and I rarely get fast food.
ReplyDeleteGreat news. These guys are true operators who love beer. I wish them nothing but the best.
ReplyDeleteAnyone with the handle "brian bobcat" surely wouldnt eat fast food ( eyeroll)
ReplyDeleteI bet you read comicbooks and eat gas station nachos.
I make good money off of poor slobs like you, thanks in advance for your sloth.
I second Penny's thoughts. So glad Villains is coming back, but really hope they do a better job staffing the new location. The only exception being the doorman at the old location... he was the best.
ReplyDeletePrevious post from FitGuy says he works at FFC.
ReplyDeleteWed 1/2/2013 2:21 PM
"And FYI I am a trainer at FFC on state where I have worked with alot of the sloopin regulars"
I hope these sloopin regulars find themselves a new trainer.

Just posting your own words FitGuy, since you tried to blame it on Sloopin censoring you.
ReplyDeleteFitGuy doesn't even live in the Sloop. And personal trainer wasn't exactly his career ambition.

ReplyDeleteYOURE WIERD FOR BLOGGING ABOUT THIS After midnight. Get a life
Can't wait until Villains comes back! We miss you guys! Can you add some more vegan items to your menu? Love your bar, regardless. (My location guess is Printers Row on Dearborn.) :D
ReplyDeleteAlso...
Cherise, you rock!
FitGuy, we get it: you're a hapless troll.
(BTW, I'm an endurance athlete: ultramarathoner, triathlete, century cyclist, etc. [without the help of any gym or personal trainer], and I polish off my victories with excellent craft beers. That's called "Happiness"!)
