We unfortunately couldn't make it, but as we walked by it seemed to be pretty busy. Inside the the bar area was teaming with people looking to see what this new establishment was all about. On 14th street there were tables set up and new patrons enjoying the beautiful night.
The countdown clock on their website reads zeros across the board, so it appears that they are officially open. We know there has been a lot of anticipation across the board for this one and are curious to hear peoples thoughts.
Did anyone go to the grand opening event? If so, we would love to hear your thoughts.
Glad to have this new place open and interested to try it for ourselves.
I attended both the soft opening and the "Grand Opening" party last night.
ReplyDeleteI was thoroughly impressed with the decor and the service. Additionally, they have a great assortment of classic drinks as well as their own custom-made selections.
There is really nothing like this in the sloop right now, especially when you factor in the wine dispenser!
I urge everyone to check out their officially opening tomorrow and beyond.

Blegh. Terrible service. Watered down drinks served in Cheesecake Factory glasses. Did I mention terrible service? The folks on Yelp did http://www.yelp.com/biz/square-one-chicago#hrid:Gylif9iUTor5Vy70wmjkbw
ReplyDeleteI agree, the service on opening weekend was terrible. We had to hunt down someone for every drink re-order and our check. But, they are new and I think it's a learning curve. The place is beautiful and has a great vibe. I think once they work out the kinks, it will be much better. I say welcome!
