This is too bad. The store was fun and definitely a unique place in the neighborhood.
Canady le Chocolatier also had a shop at 131 N. Clinton in the Chicago French Market at the Ogilivie Transportation Center. The reader also let us know:
I ran into Michael Canady last night as he was moving out and he told me that he will just be teaching classes. So I think a new location will be only for that purpose. He closed his stall in the West Loop's French Market as well. Michael is a very creative guy and brilliant in the kitchen, but I don't think retail was his thing. His email is michaelcanady2000@yahoo.com if you want to follow up with him directly. Oh and that's a public email address which you can post if you want.Best of luck to Michael and his future endeavors!

on a more positive note, Alain's is doing a soft opening this saturday- complimentary tastings of items. There is a 2-4 pm session and another later in the evening too I think 5-7 pm.
TS, can you provide a bit more info? What is Alain's and where is it? Thanks!
Alain's, 1355 S. Michigan
From Metromix: "Chef Alain Njike has teamed up with business partner (and Chicago Bears player) Israel Idonije to open this South Loop restaurant in January. Njike was raised in a restaurant family in Cameroon in west central Africa, trained at Ecole Maxime de Paris aind has worked in Chicago at Charlie Trotter's, Nomi and most recently, Park 52. He describes his fare as contemporary American with a touch of Southern and plans to serve dishes such as a savory mac 'n' cheese souffle, blackened catfish and Idonije's recipe for banana bread."
Also, Accessories by A’ni is planning to open in early August at 1227 S. Michigan.
