Yup, it's about that time of the year and with that said, we're doing our annual post on some of the free things to do around the neighborhood. As always, we're going to do the best we can to update our Google calendar on the right side of the site.
Everyones favorite dance party, Summer Dance Chicago will kick-off this year at the taste of Chicago but then move to its typical stomping ground at 601 S. Michigan (across from the Hilton). ReplyDeleteThey do a really good job of putting interesting lineups out there. The lunchtime series is usually pretty great too.
ReplyDeletePASS
ReplyDeleteWhio even listens to this stuff anyway? Lollapalooza obvi is the best party in the city, i cant wait for that one
Josh, kind of wierd your bragging about a woman indie singer on a blog isnt it?
ReplyDeleteForgot about donnas live jazz. I do love that place so much. Great sandwiches that have great ingredients and are very large. It is a summer event when you ear outside and enjoy our beautiful hood. A hidden gem with great music and food.
ReplyDeleteShe's just somebody I've followed for years and she happens to be the first act up. She's on Bloodshot with a bunch of other great musicians (Waco Brothers, Alejandro Escovedo) and if you like indie country stuff, especially for free, you should go see her. Is that weird?
ReplyDeleteJOSH yes that is weird... go away
ReplyDeleteJosh, thx for the tip, ignore the toxic Anons. It's getting out of control.
ReplyDeleteJosh - No it's not weird to recommend a band you like. DeRogotis called her new album a classic, I can't wait to hear it.
ReplyDeleteDonna's Cafe is amazing! I love it so much. It is my favorite place in the entire midwest
