Big news! Can't keep the secret anymore particularly when the 12 ft tall window next door spills the beans...Jimmy Green's is HEADING NORTH!!! (Well expanding one storefront to the north that is.) Construction starts this month so soon there'll be more Jimmy to love. More screens. More window seats. Delivery. A private dining and party den. Games and more. Thanks to our friends for making our first 18 months so wonderful that we simply gotta grow!
A good sign and hopefully they fare better than the previous restaurants that have been in that spot (which shouldn't be a problem since they have some established success already).
We're huge fans of bar games, so are happy to hear that they might have some of those as well now.
Congrats to Jimmy Green's and look forward to heading to the new space soon!
(Hat Tip: JM!)
That's good news. Hopefully, JGreen's and Flo & Santos' planned expansion debunks Tribute's claims that the economy is to blame for failure.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the Tribute comment from the owner is a joke.. he's a good guy, but blaming the economy is so far from the truth. It was their own demise. New management will bring in a different vibe, food, etc.
ReplyDeletethere is a difference between OPENING a resturant during an economic slump and sustaining during an economic slump
ReplyDeleteMaybe its a bit of an excuse but I think it still is a viable reason for a resturant to have a hard time getting off the ground. That business is tough as it is....
Flo & Santos opened during the toughest of the "economic slump" and now they are expanding, not sustaining. The economy was teed up much better for Tribute.
ReplyDeleteanyone notice sloopin and south loop connection are sharing comments?
ReplyDeleteGreat. More room for Bridgeport dudes and backward base ball caps.
ReplyDelete^^^^^^^^ If that means keeping negative people like you away from ruining my day then so be it
ReplyDeleteMoney is money. If they are bringing it into the Sloop, who cares which direction their hat is pointed?
ReplyDeleteOn another note, the 1400 S. Michigan last retail spot (supposedly an upcoming bar?) has paper up on the windows. A lot of work to be done on that spot, looked like rubble.
Hey emo "brendan". You must wear tight pants and love expressing your emotions. Sorry that art degree from Columbia didn't work out. Dudes with backwards hats probably used to beat you up. Why so negative on the post.
ReplyDeleteAttack of the "internet tough guy"
ReplyDeleteDude-- you are a :
1. Wimp
2. Loser
3. Uneducated
4. probably horrible with women
