Trader Joe’s, the specialty grocer known among foodies for its fanciful imports, organic foods and $1.99 bottled wines that earned the nickname “Two Buck Chuck,” will open its South Loop store at 1146 S. Wabash on Sept. 9.

Thats an educated statement! Are you saying we should oppress a certain segment of the population because a select few needs their ditches dug or their happy meals served?
Is anyone else worried about any riff raff in the area loitering around Trader Joes. I really hope TJ hires some security staff to mitigate any issues Jewel currently faces.
Also, what type of effect will TJ have on Jewel? Unfortunately, I will still need certain items at Jewel that TJ just does not sell, but overall I hope this forces Jewel's hand a bit, and makes them clean up their act. I cannot tell you how many times I have encountered indifferent employees and rude patrons who just refuse to move aside as you try to pass by in the aisles.
I have an iphone, I was on hold at 311 while I was posting here. This morning I called again to report the fresh gang tagging on the windows at bongo room and to complain about the loitering taking place by the old dry cleaners @ corner of Roosevelt and Wabash.
I highly suggest keeping your iphone in your pocket when @ Roosevelt Red Line stop. I had mine snatched right out of my hands on the platform a few weeks ago.
I'm SOOOO excited - I can't contain myself.
ReplyDeleteOk ok lets not get crazy! It is after all just a store.

Its sad these are my neighbors in the South Loop.
Anon @ 7:11 PM : Im beginning to think you work at Jewel!
ReplyDeleteNope. Nobody that works at Jewel would know how to log-on to a computer and type a post.
ReplyDeleteI think the real problem is no one "works" at Jewel. They just stare at you like an inconvenience.
ReplyDeleteI'm refusing to buy groceries until TJs opens. Just over a month... no problem.

Hasn't even opened yet and TJ's Wabash Ave door has been covered in gang tagging already. Welcome to the south loop TJ!
