Sounds like they are opening tomorrow -- get out at some point within the next week to check it out & let them know South Loop is behind them. The owners are from Fox & Obel & Zapatista.
Went night of April 17 to enjoy some casual bar food and watch playoff hockey. Was pleasantly surprised to find the place about 75% full, which could also be a disappointment. F&S definitely makes the most of this small space. You open the door and step right inside the dining area. We sat ourselves and immediately noticed the number of large, quality TV's in this small space, which was refreshing. Hint Hint Kroll's. I believe there are 5-6 52" LCDs and one large 100"+ projection monitor. The interior is not overdone and definitely has intimate neighborhood charm.
The service was a bit slow, but very friendly and informative. I would imagine this will greatly improve once they catch their stride after a few weeks. We enjoyed some pizza and drinks for around $50 for two, not bad. The pizza had a homemade appeal to it, though I would have liked the crust to "stick" to the toppings a bit more.
Overall, it was a refreshing experience and look forward to another local option for casual dining / sports bar. Highly recommended.
I would say "Italian Eats, Polish Treats and Bar Seats".
