If you've ever been to this show (or the taste of Chicago on July 3rd) you know it's a zoo! People everywhere! Unfortunately in recent years this has boiled over into gun violence. By changing this up, it sounds like the city will hopefully divert some of the crowds from converging on downtown.
The show will be scaled down and be conducted at three different spots on July 4th. One north, one south and one at Navy Pier still. While the show might not be as spectacular or as long (from 18 minutes to 15 minutes), it's still a show and something for Sloopers to do if they're around. As a result we can still enjoy some fireworks on July 4th and hopefully we'll have a little more space this year.
