Although a bar, restaurant or retail store would have been nice, to be honest it's just nice to have one of the numerous vacant retail spaces on the street filled. It looks like they will be opening up shop within a couple of weeks. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Glad too hear! This is a huge company and very glad they moved in.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a huge company by any reasonable measure. It's a borderline small business (lower middle market?)
ReplyDeleteA company that generated 25 mil in revenue in 2009 hardly seems small to me.
ReplyDeleteIt's basically a specialized Kinko's-type business.
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested to hear how many people it will employ at this location.
VERY Specialized...welcome to the neighborhood. A stylish, professionally run, successful business. "In addition to large-format products, Britten is widely recognized for its innovative ideas in POP, promotional banners, banner wrap, flag-poles, decals and much more. Britten’s work can be seen on the grandstands of the Daytona 500, at the U.S. Open, on city light poles for the Chicago and New York City Marathons, and in the atriums of shopping malls and professional and college sports arenas across America."
ReplyDeleteSo now we have residents criticizing the worthiness of commercial tenants in the sloop? Not good enough if it's not a big name? Are you kidding me?! I think we should all be thrilled that any commercial entity decides to set up shop in the sloop. Anything that depletes the over 500,000 square feet of vacant retail space in the sloop is a good thing. Let's just hope these new tenants are good spellers! If not, THAT would be something to complain about.

ReplyDeleteExcept gym show stores. Seriously, it's a natural for the area as I'm sure they do a lot of items for exhibitions at McPlace.
