So we stayed up to watch Chicago's presentation and one thing is clear, the Obama's delivered for Chicago 2016. Overall the presentation was fine, but didn't really move us. Here is some good coverage live blogging from
Chicagoist.
We will come back for more thoughts later.
I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. Hope I get that shiny new bike and not a knock-off Walmart brand Barbie Doll.
ReplyDeleteat least it's only 30 minutes until the start of the Blackhawks season.
ReplyDeleteChicago is out in the first round. Wow.
ReplyDeletepretty surprising news...simply stunned.
ReplyDeleteWhat John said.
ReplyDeleteDaley opens his mouth and the IOC runs the other way . . . what's so shocking about that.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad Richie & Co. aren't smart enough to really learn something from this experience.
They just got their asses handed to them . . . I can't wait to the spin/buck passing/blame game.
The next week should be an interesting one for Olympic debate...
ReplyDeleteIt's reassuring to find that the rest of the world regards our bluster and star f*cking as devoid of any real substance.
ReplyDeleteThe rest of the world has shown us what we have failed to see for ourselves - That our city is run by windbags and crooks!
ReplyDeleteLet us open our eyes, and end Daley's reign of error!
"The rest of the world has shown us what we have failed to see for ourselves - That our city is run by windbags and crooks! "
ReplyDeleteWhat cave have you been living in for the last decade or two?
I appreciate a good debate, but I thought this was a sweet little neighborhood blog?
ReplyDeleteOut-of-control crime (both on our city's streets and the corridor's of city hall) is the main reason this city was ABSOLUTELY SHUNNED by the IOC.
ReplyDeleteI tried to tell everyone to look out for Madrid - but nobody took the beautiful Spanish capitol seriously.
Amazing that in a business with corruption that only Chicago could complete with Chicago get's knocked out. Wait till we hear from Obama, "I inherited this IOC mess". I thought the left wing media told us the world was going to love the USA if Obama got elected and that governments and organizations would cave to his charm and savy.
ReplyDeleteThis Olympic debacle has been a polarizing issue . . . frankly I'm glad it's passed and we can get back to lighter topics.
ReplyDeleteI back the bid for new Chicago leadership.
ReplyDeleteHow incredibly boring was Patrick Ryan? What an atypical North Shore resident: all style and no substance. Did anyone else notice that Rio actually adressed their crime problems in their presentation while Chicago (surprise, surprise) completely ignored the issue? Sort of like a majority of the followers on this blog.
