If you didn't know, last Saturday night, the Hennessy Artistry Movement brought Chicago-bred MC Common and the Roots as the backing band, to the Shrine (2109 S. Wabash).
It was a private events and tickets were hard to come by. If Hip-hop is your thing, it looks like the Shrine is the place to be. Here is a link to a review of the intimate concert from Timeout Chicago.
Great. What an asset to the community. Hip Hop followers are usually stellar neighbors and upstanding citizens.

ReplyDeleteWe're hoping that this is a few isolated people. We would like to keep the anonymous posting option open to encourage discussion, but if this continues we might have to put safeguards in place to prevent comments like this.
I certainly do not agree with the first post but I think blocking it doesn't seem right either. People should be allowed to voice their option and hopefully they will learn that looking through a tunnel about people will get them nowhere. People should be more open to diversity!

ReplyDeleteThe South Loop does have a pretty high concentration of uptight d-bags who can't help being caucasian.
ReplyDeleteThere's also an even heavier concentration of "community organizers" who will turn the south loop into Englewood within 5 years.
ReplyDeleteIf the racists-like comments are coming from the same guy, just ask the Blogger.com administrators for assistance. They can easily give you any info you need about a user. Unless he/she is a uber geek, most people who posts dumb remarks usually aren't smart enough to realize that they're not really anonymous when they post "anonymous" comments. I'm glad there's a place like "Shrine" as it's a good alternative to Reggies Rock Club.
