“We’re pretty much tapped out in Chicago,” chef/partner Scott Harrison says. “Maybe [we'll open in] the South Loop, maybe a small one in River North…besides that, we’ve covered the 100-mile radius.”We would love one of these restaurants to open in the South Loop...always a fan of solid Italian.
I disagree. the south loop needs to develop a character of its own, not become a strip mall full of franchises. More mom and pop stores like panozzo's.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know anything about the Italian restaurant on 13th and Michigan next to Panozzo's? The tables have been set for at least two years and it is yet to open.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for supporting local businesses but this area needs another italian eatery like it needs another pothole.
ReplyDeleteRob, we totally hear you and we too prefer mom and pop stores, but Mia Francesca's isn't your typical franchise. Do you not like having Lou Malnati's in the South Loop?
ReplyDeleteJuliette, in our opinion that restaurant is the most perplexing thing in the Sloop. We've asked around and had people look into it a little, but haven't heard much.
Looked like some activity in the mystery restaurant this weekend - maybe some furniture movers.
ReplyDeleteSloopy, why no coverage of the new store Entourage at 14th & Michigan? They've been open for a couple of weeks now and I'd love to learn more.
Everytime I go pass Entourage, there doesn't seem to be anything there (selection wise). They only have like 5 racks of clothes and it's a big space.
ReplyDeleteThe Francescas in Little Italy on Taylor Street is the goods. I don't see the need for another one so close to this location.
ReplyDeletethe Francescas franchise has lost its charm with me, as Leona's did years ago... it is runing itself like an Olive Garden.
ReplyDeletemore Irish pubs and more southern/soul food joints are needed IMO
I'd love to see an eatery like FEED open up down here.
